15th Finance Commission Initiatives – Health, Education & Livelihood

Umang Foundation is actively and successfully implementing various development initiatives under the framework of the 15th Finance Commission. These initiatives are designed to strengthen Health, Education, and Livelihood opportunities at the grassroots level, ensuring inclusive and sustainable community development.

Health:
Under the health component, the Foundation conducts community health awareness drives, preventive healthcare sessions, sanitation campaigns, nutrition awareness programs for women and children, and provides support for strengthening local health infrastructure and outreach activities. The objective is to promote preventive healthcare practices and improve overall community well-being.
Education:
In the education sector, Umang Foundation undertakes academic support and career guidance workshops, distribution of educational materials to needy students, digital literacy and skill-based training sessions, and awareness programs aimed at reducing school dropouts. These efforts are focused on ensuring equitable access to quality education and encouraging students to pursue higher learning opportunities.
Livelihood:
To strengthen livelihood opportunities, the Foundation implements skill development and vocational training programs, Self-Help Group (SHG) strengthening initiatives, entrepreneurship guidance for rural youth and women, and support for sustainable agriculture and allied activities. The primary goal is to create sustainable income sources and promote economic self-reliance among communities.

Through these integrated efforts under the 15th Finance Commission framework, Umang Foundation continues to contribute meaningfully towards inclusive rural development and long-term community empowerment.

Sparking Excitement for Learning

On 10th November 2025, the school kit distribution in Rakhsaswadi and Saaaraavali was more than just an event — it was a room full of bright eyes and bigger smiles. One student, clutching her new kit, joyfully shared that she couldn’t wait to use it in class. That single moment said everything. It is a reminder that sometimes, the smallest gesture of support carries the deepest message for a child: that someone believes in their future, and that learning is worth looking forward to.

Support in a Time of Need

When the team visited flood-affected areas, they found families still picking up the pieces after the rains had taken so much away. In one such home, as the children received their school kits, something shifted — the weight in their parents’ eyes gave way to relief, and the children’s faces broke into smiles that no flood could wash away. The parents expressed their gratitude with words that came straight from the heart, saying the support had arrived exactly when it was needed most. In the middle of hardship, these kits did not just carry stationery — they carried hope.
